Beginning Monday, November 2, 2020 Veterans, caregivers, and beneficiaries who are eligible for reimbursement of mileage and other travel expenses to and from approved health care appointments can now enter claims in the new Beneficiary Travel Self-Service System (BTSSS). BTSSS simplifies the current claim submission process for beneficiaries and ensures timely processing and payment of travel reimbursements.

Use self-help tools to make claim submissions fast and easy
Visit AccessVA, select submit a travel claim, and logon using a DS Log on account.
A DS Logon is an ID issued by DoD that will allows Veterans and caregivers to access many VA and DoD sites with one user username and password. Need a DS Log on?

Springfield High School’s National Honor Society would like to GIVE BACK TO LOCAL VETERANS.  On Veteran’s Day, November 11th, the students want to rake the yards of as many Veterans as possible.  If a Veteran would like to have their yard raked please contact:

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program will begin collecting standard size stockings, and travel sized items for our Santa for Soldiers program. TOUR THE NEW DOWNTOWN YMCA

To celebrate Veteran’s Day, the YMCA of Springfield would like to invite all active and inactive service men and women, along with their families, to join us for a tour of the New Downtown YMCA.  


 

On Wednesday, November 11 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., service men and women will receive a private tour from the Downtown YMCA staff and have the opportunity to talk with department directors on the different programs and services we offer.

 

There will be activities for kids, snacks and drinks provided, opportunities to join at the new site, and ice cream for National Ice Cream Sundae Day. Come and take a tour and grab one of our special giveaway items.

American Legion Chili Contest on November 7th, it says Sept 7, but we screwed up.  You still have time to enter.
