Please join us in a heartfelt tribute to honor our veterans at our annual Mass of Remembrance, where all faiths are welcome. Mass will be held at 9 am, Thursday, July 4th, at Oak Ridge Cemetery, to honor the brave men and women who serve and have served our beautiful nation. Please bring a lawn chair for your comfort. It is Wreaths Across America “Giving in July“ time. We are encouraging our sponsors to order wreaths in July so we can qualify to be entered into a drawing for 100 free wreaths. If we submit an order for at least 30 wreaths between June 1st and July 31st we will qualify for the drawing in our region.

Vietnam Encampments July 13 at the Illinois State Military Museum

STRIVE researchers at The Ohio State University are conducting a paid research study to compare the effectiveness of two psychological treatments in reducing suicidal thoughts and behaviors among military personnel and veterans. Eligible volunteers will receive 12 to 16 sessions of psychotherapy and complete assessments every three months for two years. Participants can earn up to $522.
Who: U.S. military personnel and veterans, 18 years or older, experiencing suicidal thoughts or recent suicide attempts.
What:
- 12-16 therapy sessions
- Brief surveys and follow-up assessments over two years
- Participation is entirely virtual with broadband internet access
Why: To improve treatments for reducing suicide risk and enhance quality of life. Participants can earn up to $522.
