Next meeting September 30 at the Navy Club.  There will be no food and social distancing is recommended.

Veterans Day events to be discussed at that time.  We need to think outside the box.  We hate not to ignore Veterans Day with all the disregard for history and the fact we missed last year because of the snow.  Veterans Day parade is canceled for 2020

Next quarterly VAC meeting is 3rd WEDNESDAY of month  21st of October at American Legion Post 32.


 

 

For the past 30 years, there has been a lack of objective tools for diagnosing Gulf War Illness (GWI), which is largely characterized by central nervous system (CNS) symptoms emerging from 1991 Gulf War (GW) veterans. In a recent preliminary study, we reported the presence of autoantibodies against CNS proteins in the blood of veterans with GWI, suggesting a potential

Memorial Marker Dedication for CM1 Otto Harrison Evans

Sunday, September 13, 2020 at 2 PM – 3:30 PM
The Veterans Memorial Foundation, the Illinois Department of Veteran's Affairs, and Staab Funeral Home invite you to honor the service of CM1 Otto Harrison Evans, a Springfield native.
CM1 Evans was a passenger on the USS Cyclops. In June 1918, the USS Cyclops along with its 309 of the passengers and crew aboard was declared lost at sea.
Join us for a brief recognition of CM1 Evans's service to our Country. The dedication will take place at Block 31, Lot 175 at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
